The 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles first single seems an appropriate time to announce that The Story of The Beatles strip is to be given a new lease of life as a digital comic. Because it will  not be available until later in the year I’ve been sitting on this story for a few months. In August ROK Comics announced an expansion of its audio comic range available for iPad, iPhone and Android devices.
This part of a fuller  press release . . .
“ROK is pioneering the creation of and delivery of original audio comic books across a range of new titles . . via the latest technology” ROK Comics do digital comics rounded out with sound tracks and animation. Presently available for free for iPad and iPhone are adventure strip Team M.O.B.I.L.E 1 and 2 and Houdini 1.”
Titles to come include:
The Beatles Story, an eight-issue limited digital series collecting, in full, the stunning creator owned comic created by Angus Allan and Arthur Ranson. Which will include rare video of The Beatles.
The Elvis Story, an eight-issue limited digital series by Angus Allan and Arthur Ranson telling the legend of the King never republished since its first appearance in British comic Look-in in the 1990’s.”

I’m pleased. Especially that The Elvis Story is getting another outing.

Friday November 2nd
ROK Comics Beatles audio comic (#1 of 8) is now available for Android http://ht.ly/eYG9t and ipad/iPhone: http://ht.ly/eYGfZ
As far as I am concerned this is not an ad but a public service announcement.

Hullo Andrea,
well thank you on behalf of my ones anyway. Sure Martin would be pleased too. The three Beatles ink drawings are new to the site, not on the Look-in page.
Best.
Arthur
