Hullo Folks

Hullo folks,welcome to the site.
Asked to consider a site initially I saw no grounds for it. Imagine selling artwork by it a bore and I no longer work. There is self display, but that effort? Opportunity to correct errors on the internet appealed but did it matter if it was believed The Beatles Story drawn a decade before it was? I became interested only after friend Nigel Baxter produced a mock up page. Then, recalling a chldhood book, The Golden Book of Wonder - illustrated tales of adventure, chivalry and strange lands - how it had created an interest in made up stuff, 'story', which remained with me and was background to my work - I thought a website might be a way to pursue that.
Later I was reminded by Coran of Coran's Web about history, both getting it right and respecting one's own. That became my prime motivation, albiet being a little uneasy about it's egocentric nature.

I am grateful to Tobias Jones who put together this arena for me to navigate and personalise.

Interviewed about my work I have at times been surprised both by what people know and their curiousity about stuff I never considered, so the chances are this site has missed something someone has questions about or a view on. So ask and I promise to respond. Your comments also welcome.
If you have been, thanks for your interest.

Have not seen much of it yet but will look and study.
Looks good, looks diferent which is good
Congratulations in this new site being completed..........almost Take care

Hi Arthur, wonderful to see you've got a presence now on t'internet. I've always been a big fan of your work in 2000AD and the Megazine so it's a real treat to explore some of the other work you've done over the years. Dangermouse and Duckula!? I had no idea. I especially like the sketchbook section of the new site, fascinating to see the design processes that go into producing your work. Anyway, thought I'd just drop you a quick line and say thanks for all the great artwork you've created for our enjoyment and I look forward to seeing what you get up to with your new digital space. Take care and best wishes, Kerrin.

Dear Arthur,
Thanks for so many pages of wonderful comic art - that have been so inspirational to me. Glad to see one of my favourites adorning the top right of this page (and as the background I notice too).
I would love to see more of your work in print - but if that is not to be, then please have a long and happy retirement - you will be missed, but not nearly so much now that there is now this lovely shiny place to visit.
Thanks again,
best regards,
Kev

Aaww shucks. You're too kind.

Am a little shell shocked by the interest. Thank you.

Thanks for all the great work over the years and for the site that showcases it all.

And you shouldn't be surprised at the interest - you have amazed and beguiled thousands over the years and your work has lost none of its impact (as flicking through the gallery will demonstrate) - only recently I was skimming through some back issues of 2000AD and stumbled across a double-page spread you'd done for Mazeworld and it hit me exactly the same way it had when I first read it. I think most right-thinking folks would want to see it collected in some form and sooner rather than later!!

The link to your site is popping up all over the place and people only have good things to say, here is a thread on the 2000AD forums that was prompted by the site:

Good luck with whatever you do next and keep everyone updated on the exhibition.

I am surprised and reading the comments on the link you supplied, thank you, even more so.
Of course some enterprising publisher should collect Mazeworld.
Will keep you updated on the show. There is a lovely poster by Tobias planned for it.
Still some site bits to put together and I find I am constantly editing and changing what we do have.

Oh,and thank you for the good wishes.
