Mazeworld covered

Simon Parr at Rebellion is the designer for the Mazeworld book due in November. He was nice enough to send me some images of the thing so far. Being a man of independent mind he has done his own thing. So here is what to look out for now. Look’s good doesn’t it.

I was hoping for the old 2000AD cover with Cadmans head and the red maze but I think this will work really well and really does your artwork justice!

Hullo Anonomous,
I know the cover you mean but had thought the picture used does kind of invite one to look inside to see what it was about. It was selected by Simon Parr who wisely ignored most of my suggestions. All the artwork was rescanned for the book so this drawing looks better than I remember it. Lucky me.

Well, let me tell you a secret... when the series finished it's last instalment I got all of the issues, removed the Mazeworld strip from each and stapled them all together with that image as the cover to make my own graphic novel of it, I loved it so much (and I'd never even heard the term by then). So partly I was expecting that cover because it made sense but I've more than been won over by this new cover, it's a very good choice and the title looks fantastic too. Can't wait! Also heard some of the original pages might be going up for sale sometime, I DEFINITELY have to buy one!

Hullo Anonymous, thanks for the story. You were obviously ahead of your time in your appreciation.
There is no reason why Mazeworld artwork should not be sold now it has all been rescanned but how that will be organised I am unsure at present.

Hi Arthur
That looks terrific! They chose a beautiful piece of art there.

And I'm feeling a touch of pride they stuck with the typeface I used in the campaign promo pic and used the "A nightmarish fantasy" tagline!

Can't wait to have the book in my hands!

Hullo Lee,
though I says so that shouldn't the cover does look good doesn't it? At this distance in time I am as curious as anyone to see the book. Feels now as if it were drawn by somebody else entirely.
And your touch of pride is perfectly justified.

cool stuff here.

Hullo Mandy,
thank you. It's cool that you should say so.
Best,
Arthur
