I was recently introduced to a young guy whom I was told was studying graphic design. He was told I drew comics. Him “Oh really? “ in a deeply interested voice that many citizens adopt on hearing that they have just met a drawer of comics. Me “2000AD mostly” Him “I don’t know it. I never read comics”. Which is a not uncommon response in my experience.
“I never read comics“. And wants to be a graphic designer.
After some soul searching the lesson I learned from this  was that people who have never read comics should be regarded with pity, not disgust.
